Turkoman weavers work in conjunction with Yayla Tribal Rugs to produce
Aryana rugs in northern Pakistan. Aryana is the old name for northern
Afghanistan. These rugs are woven using only handspun wool and pure
plant dyes just like the rugs of centuries ago. The wool, taken from
the spring shear, is healthy and rich in natural lanolin. The rugs
woven with this fine wool will take on a lovely sheen as they grow
old. The designs are eclectic, collected throughout the entire range
of the oriental rug and textile weaving tradition. Sizes range from
2' x 3' to18' x 28'.
